Project Objectives
The project seeks to achieve the following main objectives:
1. Provide meaningful opportunities for youth in conflict-affected areas by improving their access to economic opportunities and promoting positive youth development initiatives led by local institutions.
2. Mitigate community grievances by strengthening community service delivery, particularly psychosocial support, for children and their families under difficult circumstances.
3. Promote psychosocial resilience for children, adolescents, and their caregivers in the Jenin community.
Main Project Activities
1. Youth Training and Employment:
- Training 66 young men and women (aged 18-29) on using art, sports, and music activities to provide psychosocial support to children under stress.
- Providing short-term employment opportunities for the trained youth for three months in partnership with two local organizations (Al-Jalil and Al-Takaful).
2. Implementing Activities for Children:
- The trained youth implemented recreational and educational extracurricular activities to support 200 children and adolescents (aged 5-15) in community centers.
3. Implementing Activities for Parents:
- Providing psychosocial support and awareness sessions for approximately 80 parents (mostly mothers) to enhance their support capacity.
4. Recreational Day (Fun Day):
- Organizing a large recreational day bringing together youth, children, and families, including theater, circus performances, and fun games.
Outputs:
66 young men and women received specialized training and short-term employment opportunities.
200 children and adolescents benefit from psychosocial support activities.
80 parents receive support and awareness-raising.
The capacity of two local organizations to implement youth programs is strengthened.
Contributing to alleviating psychological stress and creating positive alternatives for youth and children in the Jenin community.
This project contributes to building youth capacities, creating temporary economic opportunities, and enhancing social cohesion and the mental health of families in one of the areas most affected by the current situation.
